Recipe for July, August & September

An easy dessert for outdoor grilling! 

Sweet Stuffed Apples
Serves 4

4 sweet, firm apples, (Braeburn)
2 Tbl. unsalted butter, at room temperature
3 Tbl. packed dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground allspice
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

1.      Remove ¾ of the apple core using an apple corer and melon baller.

2.      In a medium bowl, cream the butter, sugar and spices until mixed well.  Spoon mixture into the apples, dividing evenly. 

3.      Wrap apple in foil – shiny side in.  Place on outer rim of grill.  Cover grill and cook for 45 minutes.  Serve with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
